What To Eat And Drink In Labour

About this course

Super practical video for birthing people and birth partners to get to grips with various eventualities for birth and what to eat and drink.

Want to look after your birthing mama in labour..

Our nurse and nutitionist Katy Bradbury suggests a good electrolyte mixture for labour and childbirth should aim to maintain hydration, energy levels, and balance of essential minerals. Here's a simple and effective recipe for an electrolyte drink to offer your partner as they heroically bring your babe into the world.

Ingredients:

Water: 1 liter (preferably filtered or mineral water). Sea salt or Himalayan salt: 1/4 teaspoon (provides sodium and trace minerals). Coconut water: 1 cup (contains natural electrolytes like potassium). Honey or maple syrup: 1-2 tablespoons (for glucose and energy). Lemon juice: 1-2 tablespoons (for flavor and a boost of vitamin C).
